Go START-2019 Challenge

Category: Body, Mind, Spirit

In the spirit of the new year, and resolutions that are notorious for being broken, let’s talk about changes in our routine that can stick: creating healthy habits.

Between January 1 – January 31, challenge yourself to create a habit and maintain it for the month, with the goal of carrying on throughout the year. Check-in every time you practice the new habit. Maximum check-in is once a day.

Whatever your goal may be, whether it’s making more time for yourself, exercising more, or reducing stress, change is more effective and lasting with the right plan and attitude.

One effective strategy that you can use are SMART* goals, or goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-framed. SMART goals can help you to better track your progress, set realistic expectations, and will help get you further along than you could have ever imagined. Download this worksheet to help you get started!

  7. I am enrolled in a program offered by Daytwo.com. The program/APP determines your gut biota and offers a diet custom tailored to your ability to digest the food. Well it turns out I do not process fructose well, so I have to reduce/eliminate some fav foods like: bananas, apples and oranges that are high in sugar content. But, I can eat coconut, berries, and all sorts of vegs. My goal is to be in optimal health.

  8. I’ve written in my journal every day (but one!) this month! Decided I didn’t need to write a novel each day, just a few high (or low)lights and it’s been easy and a nice practice.

    • I’ve been doing the same habit! I’m using a one-line-a-day journal and it’s so much easier to stick to

  9. It has been real hard to eliminate some of my fav foods. I love fruit and found out that I need to really chill out on the intake. So, I have been very self-aware and cutting out my usual snacks. My grocery store habits and buying has shifted to better choices for me.
